History

Mesura was founded by Willi and Herald Mann.
At that time Mesura was a gas meters manufacturer.

The Company continued to manufacture and improve gas meters. The employers were five. Following the Bordeaux Local Council’s request, the Company was studying the implementation of Gas Regulators manufacturing.

Despite the production of gas meters decreased as Mesura became a gas regulators manufacturer, this activity continues today. With this new business, the Company became more important and constantly strenghtened its brand, becoming one of the major French manufacturers of regulators. In 1956, the Company MESURA established at Forbach, 33 rue Nationale, in the industrial district, to facilitate formalities for exports.
At that time export was already a significant part of the production.

Many gas plants were regulated for cities and provinces and the Local Council served as “distributor”. In the same year, the Department of Gaz de France establishes specific standards and thus the gas regulator was officially approved. The importance and significance of this device became even more recognized. The Market grew, the factory quickly proved to be too small, and it was decided to expand the plant.

Mesura transformed from S.A.R.L. to S.A. (Société Anonyme).

Creation of the France and Export Sales Department in Ulis, near Paris.

Creation of the subsidiary Sales Department MESURA Italy in Turin.

Obtaining the ISO 9005 Certification.

Mesura moves to the new facility in Technopôle Forbach Sud.

Obtaining the ISO 9001 version 2000.

Cavagna Group acquires Mesura S.A.S.

The Group strengthened its international presence in Asia through a joint venture in Mumbai. Mesura Nirmal Gas Control is specialized in the manufacture of Natural Gas regulators for residential, commercial and Industrial use. The Mesura Nirmal Gas Control is co-owned by Mesura SA and Nirmal Industries Ltd, a company devoted to gas pressure reducing stations with safety shut off and metering skids.

In December 2016 The Group completed the takeover of the assets of the Italian STF Gas, based in Vernate (Milan). STF Gas engineers and manufactures since 1979 medium and high pressure Natural Gas regulators and Natural Gas regulating skids.
This takeover marks another step along the Group’s path towards widening its range of products and services in the natural gas industry.
